STORY
I had just started taking care of the colony in April of 2010. Cynthia (gray "tuxedo") was named because it means "Lady of the moon". So when her kittens were born, I figured I would name them after minerals and stones (since the moon is a big rock). Disco was originally Topaz - but when I decided to keep her, I changed it to Disco. Her markings of little spots within bigger blotches sort of reminded me of a disco ball (and/or it's reflections).
She lived inside the house during the month of November to keep Zinara company while recovering from a horrible respiratory infection, and get spayed. I could have adopted her out, but Zinara is very attached to her. My dad was getting upset at having "all those d*m cats running around" in the house, so I had to put them back outside. Zinara was not tame enough to adopt, so I let Disco stay with her, as I didn't want to stress Zinny out with having to lose her last sibling (Tourmaline and Zircon were already adopted at this point).
Being tame, Disco always came to greet me when I went out to feed the ferals at the feeding station in the back corner of the yard. However, I have not seen her since mid-March. I hope she's okay, and just is on a little adventure... one of the other ferals disappeared for a few weeks and returned just as I was starting to give up wondering...so I hope that's the case this time.
