I haven't actually ridden a bike in about 5 years. But I do like the activity. I'm going to ask for a mountain bike for my next birthday, and try to go on the trails in the local canyons during the summer.
I haven't been bowling in about 5 years. But I do like the activity. I may start going more often in winter, if only to keep my arm muscles in shape for next summer to go fishing! It seems that if I do neither for quite a while, then suddenly spend a whole day, the same set of muscles are sore...so my plan is to keep them strong with altering seasonal activities.
Last time I went "camping", it was with the in-laws at a cabin...with electricity and running water. That's not camping! My dad has a motor home, which is almost as bad...but the poor guy is 73 years old, I suppose he can get away with it - needs a break from a lifetime of setting up tents and campfires.
But I'm still a youngin'! Next summer, I'd like to buy some basic (tent, tin cooking set, sleeping bag), and truly go roughin' it!
This is a new hobby for me. The main reason I cook now, is to have more control over my diet, as I need a rather specialized one. I need extra calories, but would like to keep my cholesterol, fat and sodium contents low. The best way to do that, is make my own stuff...right?
If I could be a driver, that would be awesome! However, I'm too poor to buy a car, the equipment, registration/entry fees, and all that good stuff. So for now, I'll just be a spectator.
This sport is both very relaxing, and very frustrating, at the same time! Relaxing because you get to go out in nature, and do nothing but basically putter around all day. Frustrating, if you don't catch anything...or anything desirable. My species of choice are catfish and walleye.
I am a member of Big Fish Tackle. I sort of consider it a club, since there's a Utah section. I've been to some of the get-togethers, and even an impromptu "class", which sort of got dismissed by now.
Here is my personal fishing page.
I've been wanting to do this for several years, and finally got the chance to! I work with A New Beginnings Animal Rescue. We display cats and a few dogs, at the local PetCo every Saturday from 1 P.M. to 7 P.M.
My current foster cat is Lily.
Yes, I'm a nerd! Though I don't really like the classic Dungeons & Dragons...it seems to have more math, than adventure. Most of the games I play are text-based, on IRC.
I don't really RP anymore. After re-arranging my life priorities, it sort of got shoved off the list. But I used to spend 10+ hours a day with it! I would like to do 'table-top' or even Live Action, though I don't really even have the time to 'waste' for that, either. Plus, my new friends are older and more mature, and aren't into it. And if I wanted to join a group in the city, I'd have to drive at least 30 miles each way to the meetings...and I'm too poor for all that gasoline!
Actually, I don't know how to swim. I've heard that fat floats, so I guess my skinny little self would sink like a rock. I do like being in the water, just to play around. And I LOVE to soak in a jacuzzi!
This one should be obvious. However, I'm not very talented in the art aspect, making the graphics to be put ON the page. But I'll learn...eventually.
